A day with the Ogdens, in Harlow Carr

We are sure that the title alone will draw your attention to this blog. Who are the Ogdens, and what or where is Harlow Carr?

A fellow admission director in California, introduced Matt and Sarah via email to her friends in Northern England, Phil and Christine Ogden. Fortunately, they are not too far away, as their town is practically a straight line north of Harrogate. Phil and Christine drove down on Sunday, and took Matt and Sarah for tea, and a walk through Harlow Carr, a member of the Royal Horticultural Society. Harlow Carr is gardens - and truly beautiful ones at that. We also had a great morning getting to know Phil and Christine - they were wonderful. We hope to head north to see them once we get settled down here. They have some great walks around their town, and we are looking forward to seeing Phil's garden.

We move into our new flat on Monday, August 18. It's been a long time coming, and we can't wait. We will take some photos when we get ourselves in the property.

Until then, enjoy some photos of Harlow Carr:

Congratulations, Sarah! Although we haven't met Matt, please tell him he is a very lucky guy. And "Go Navy!" (Our Navy son is heading to Afghanistan in November). Thanks for the pics. Brings back memories of my trip there many years ago. Keep in touch.
