Tour of the Yorkshire Dales

Matt and Sarah went on a bus tour to the Yorkshire Dales. We had the opportunity to see Skipton, Summerbridge, and a few other smaller villages. Each had a very different flavor. We really enjoyed seeing the houseboats on the water, which are long, slender river boats, and look different than houseboats in the states.

Ripley Castle was on our tour, and as we were walking along side it, we were stopped by the grounds keeper. He said he'd give us a quick peek into the courtyard. It was great. You could actually see pock marks where bullets had once hit the side of the castle. Walking around the outside wall of the property, we were able to see the best views. Ripley is not just famous for its castle, it is also famous for the ice cream. Of course, we felt we needed to check it out for ourselves.
